PF Cover Volume 2 in our live setup on Fractal FM9
When every passage comes at just the right moment, the piece really comes to life
With PF Cover Volume 2, the 26 Scenes follow four pieces from the repertoire: Another Brick in the Wall Part 2, Sorrow, Time and High Hopes. The stated reference is the live performance of PULSE, but for us, the main point is to make that approach feel natural on stage: clean, drive, solo, boost, and effects need to come together without interrupting the flow.
On the Fractal FM9, this structure becomes a true map of the piece, clear and easy to follow even during the performance.
Four songs, four different worlds
Another Brick in the Wall Part 2 features eight scenes, including harmonization, overdrive, solo, and boost. Sorrow transitions from the grand “Intro Solo” to the more stripped-down sections, while Time alternates between crunch, chorus, and two solo levels. High Hopes, on the other hand, brings the lap steel in a world of its own, between “Sustain,” “Rotary,” and “Distorted Lap.”
Every change has a specific reason. We’re not looking for a sequence of effects; we’re looking for the moment when the sound needs to take on a new character without losing the emotion of the song.
When the rig becomes part of the performance
On the FM9, the greater availability of controls allows us to arrange the Scenes according to the song's structure and to keep functions such as boost, Dry, Mute and Rotary.
Before going on stage, we check the levels, transitions, and response in the band’s full mix, so that every transition remains smooth and musical.
When everything is in the right place, you no longer notice the transition from one scene to the next: you simply hear the song as it continues to unfold.
