DG-20 Legacy for IK Multimedia AmpliTube 5 enters our workflow as a bank of 36 presets organised around the songs and the different roles of the guitar. Clean tones, rhythm sounds, modulation and lead presets are recalled directly within the software session and adapted to the actual function of each part.
From the Song to the Section
Many songs are divided into multiple configurations: Coming Back to Life, Money, Comfortably Numb, The Wall and Time feature dedicated presets for clean, rhythm and solo parts. This allows us to choose the sound according to each section of the song, focusing primarily on delay, modulation, sustain, attack and perceived volume.
Presets such as Run Like Hell, Shine Phaser, Keep Talking Delay, Muff Flanger and Muff VIBE cover the sections where movement, ambience and modulation become a central part of the arrangement.
A Software Bank Within the Setlist
On AmpliTube 5, we arrange the presets according to the session and check the levels between one configuration and the next using the same input chain as our actual setup.
The result is a unified environment capable of covering the setlist from open clean tones and delays to modulation, Muff-style drive and lead sounds, while keeping each sound tied to the song and the specific role it needs to perform.
