DG-20 Legacy in our live setup on the Helix Series

How a Sound Library Becomes Part of the Show

DG-20 Legacy becomes part of our repertoire by starting from the songs themselves, rather than from a generic “Gilmour sound.”

The 15 presets are organized according to the setlist and tested with the band, adapting levels, delays, modulation, and gain to the actual role the guitar needs to play within the arrangement.

From Sound to Song

Each preset takes you directly to a specific point in the setlist: Shine, Any Colour You Like, Brain Damage, Comfortably Numb, Coming Back to Life, Keep Talking, Learning to Fly, Money, Run Like Hell, Sorrow, Time and Us and Them.

In the more atmospheric songs, we focus mainly on delay and space, allowing the vocals and keyboards to breathe. In the lead parts of Time and Comfortably Numb, on the other hand, sustain, dynamics, and presence in the mix become essential.

Run Like Hell is our reference for precision and delay; Money for attack, gain, and modulation; Shine On and Us and Them for depth and ambience.

On stage, it's all about the FLOW

On the Line 6 Helix Series, we organize the presets in the same order as the show, checking footswitches, levels, and transitions before rehearsals.

Where possible, we avoid unnecessary changes and let touch, guitar volume, and dynamics handle the variations. The result is a rig that is easier to manage and feels more natural during the performance.
