With DG-20 Legacy, each preset starts from a specific moment in the music. From the deep clean tones of Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Us and Them to the tension of Time, Sorrow, and Comfortably Numb, the sound evolves with the song.
On the Fractal FM3, the 15 presets become a compact sonic setlist, ready to follow the flow of the live show.
From preset to song
Shine, Coming Back to Life, Learning to Fly, Money, Run Like Hell, Sorrow, Time, Comfortably Numb, and Us and Them have completely different requirements. That is why we are not looking for a single “Gilmour sound”: we are looking for the character that each part needs to have at that specific moment.
In Run Like Hell, precision and delay are essential; in Money, it is all about attack and modulation, while Time and Comfortably Numb need to sustain the lead without losing presence. Shine On and Us and Them, on the other hand, rely mainly on space and delay tails.
When the rig leaves room for the music
The compact design of the FM3 makes this approach even more natural. We arrange the presets in setlist order, adjust levels, drive, and delay, and always know which sound is coming next.
The final adjustments always happen with the full band. A delay that sounds perfect on its own can become too present in the mix, while a lead needs to rise above the arrangement. without breaking its balance
When everything finds its place, you stop thinking about the preset and simply start playing.
