DisKovery PF Anthology 3.0 in our live setup on the Kurzweil K2700
When a keyboard manages to span different eras without losing its soul
With DisKovery PF Anthology 3.0, the 88 preset — 61 Program e 27 Multi — become a true sound palette built around the Pink Floyd repertoire. The Programs provide individual sounds; the Multis transform them into configurations already linked to a song or a section of a song.
Organ, Rhodes, Solina, lead, pad, bass, effects, and sampled parts all coexist within the same K2700, allowing us to traverse very different eras while always maintaining a common thread.
From The Dark Side to The Wall, every era has its own color
On the Run and Time combine sequences, VCS3, EPs, pads, and samples. Shine On You Crazy Diamond incorporates the Minimoog, Solina, Leslie, and more ethereal atmospheres, while Animals and The Wall shift the sound toward Rhodes, lead, backing vocals, brass, and more complex arrangements.
Then the route continues with Learning to Fly, Coming Back to Life, Marooned, Yet Another Movie and Sorrow: a journey spanning decades without ever giving the impression that the instrument has changed.
When the bench becomes part of the arrangement
On the Kurzweil K2700, when a piece requires multiple elements, we start with the Multi; when only a specific color is needed, we start with the Program. This way, the library remains flexible and can adapt to the actual distribution of parts within the band.
Before going on stage, we also check the Multi tracks that use sampled material, so that each element comes in exactly where it’s supposed to.
When everything is set up right, the K2700 stops feeling like a collection of presets and becomes a time machine within the repertoire.
